Installation of 'A Tree of Yorkshire Birds'

Specialist Nurse for Organ Donation, Razdy Igasan, is pictured below during the installation. We were thrilled by the numerous and very positive comments from passersby throughout installation. A joy to witness!

The birds in the tree are laser cut as one piece, wing patterns and other detailing on the birds show as brushed aluminium through the aged copper finish. This allows the birds to shimmer in various lights throughout the day. Birds flying around the tree have a verdigris finish and stand off the wall to give extra depth. The lettering that arcs around the top of the tree, ‘the gift of life’ also stand off to add emphasis to the message.

A circular information plaque, created in an aged copper and brushed aluminium finish, provides details of this dramatic organ donation public art.

Many thanks go to Imagecoltd.com and especially David Shackleton, for their care and attention to detail in the production of our sculpture.

Pictured above is John Simpson of Onsite Print Installations (on the scissor lift) whose expertise, with a little help from ourselves, made the installation of such a large artwork be so brilliantly straightforward.
